I have installed Windows 2000 Server with Active Directory and my domain is called paylessmortgage.com. However, this domain is an Internet domain as well so when I try to access it doesn't work because it tries to find the website on the Win2k Server when it is being hosted by an ISP.

I have configured an A-record for paylessmortgage.com and have been able to access only paylessmortgage.com from the client computers but not (which I need to do in order to access webmail). I don't know how to configure an A-record for since it does not let you enter periods (.) in the domain text box. How can I go about doing this? Step-by-step instructions would be great.

1- start-programs-administrative tool-dns
2- go under forward lookup zone- paylessmortgage.com
3- click on action then new host
4- under name type WWW
5- on the ip address type the address of the server that host your web page

Good Luck

Have a look on an article from my site where I explain about how to link your internal DNS and external DNS (in Windows / Advanced section).
