I tried to make a GP change this morning only to discover that I can't access the security settings under computer settings, I can access all of the other policies but not this one.

Anyone had a similar experience?

1) are you the sysadmin?
2) were you able to access this policy before?
3) prob. causes are:

a)"read" permission has been denied for the GPO to you as a user.
b)you are member of a group which has ben denied the "read" permission for the GPO.

DNS? Yup, "if i try to access it and leave it thinking about it for 5 mins it works"

This sounds like a DNS issue...

then I guess Teamaker is pointing to the wrong DNS on the computer from which he's trying to access the GPO (however, he can access other settings, so that's wierd)
or the DNS server is having problems.
