It seems no matter what jack i plug into, whether it's 01 or any other jack set as "manager" or "operator" i can only access the first 14 programming functions. If i enter a 3-digit number higher than "014" i get three beeps. If anyone knows why this is it would be super helpful becuase i'm having problems with a line and really need to get into the 400's. thanks!

Take a look at your manual and use the INSTALLER password instead of the manager password.

Those are both good ideas, i looked in the PDF manual and i don't see anything about installer mode, and i think the *+# might be fore the 1232 model but i'm definitely going to try it as soon as i get back to the office.

If you can't read the first 14 pages of the Programming Manual to find the heading "Entering the Programming Mode" then you ought to call a Panasonic dealer......

The manual definitely doesn't call that installer mode. But unessesary confrontation aside, when i tried that it didn't work. i still get three beeps. When i was initially setting up the system i thought maybe that was just programming mode for the 1232 model and not the D816. But now that you guys have inspired me to re-read it, i see that program ** is called USER programming mode.

so maybe someone changed the password ? is there a way to reset it without resetting everything to factory default?

Ok maybe i don't need programmer mode. Here is my seemingly simple problem.

I have three Co lines. Incoming calls to CO 2 seem to be sent somewhere, like when you have the line set to go to a specific extemsion.

The phones don't ring, the light (7425 and 7433) is solid red not flashing. If i want to pick up that incoming call i have to use the "40" command to answer a call going somewhere else.

I've made sure i try a phone in each jack and none of them pick up the call automatically.

so apparently i have a CO line that sends the call to some mysterious place, when i want it to act like all the other lines and just ring so i can pick it up.

Nevermind! factory reset did the trick. Now i can get into "installer" mode, and i don't even need to because it reset whatever the problem was.

Thanks!

i know! i spent like a week figuring out how the whole system works before i even plugged it in lol! Turns out i could have just hit reset and spent 10 minutes on the manual to learn how to program the intercoms and co buttons. arrrgghh

Hey let me throw one quick question in here at the end if i can.

i want to set a button to intercom everyone. i can set buttons to call single extensions. i set up a group because i think i need to make button to page a group, but i only see the program 99 + 1 + extention no. command which doesn't work.

program 99 2 then the group number. NOTE this will not work as a BLF KEY

Not true! If you program a button with a light, then 2+330 STORE sets all page. If you program a Feature button, the 2 is already assumed so you just dial the 330 and STORE.

EXCELLENT! pressing 2 did it! i thought the 2 command was only to clear a button. awesome thanks!
