Hi,

I have a Vaio partitioned into a D and C drive. I installed Suse 9.1 on my D partition. I can no longer access the D drive in XP pro. All the files can be seen in the Windows (1) folder in Suse. When clicking the D: drive Xp says it must be formatted and the properties reads 0 bytes.

Any insights on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Windows doesn't have support for EXT* partitions, so you won't be able to see that data from Windows, whereas linux DOES support NTFS filesystems(as well as FAT32), so you CAN see your windows files from within linux. Not the other way around.

Yes. But I need to access files on the drive through windows as there are programs etc. installed on it. I'm willing to delete Linux if need be -- just need to restore use of the D drive without losing information -- whatever it takes. Thanks.

Mount the windows drive in linux (with NTFS write support), copy the files over... then you can maintain your linux partition, and have your windows too. Ahhh, meat and potatoes, with a slice of pie... can't get better than that :)
