I have Callpilot 4.0 insttaled and I can not send out faxes using callpilot. There is no issue with incoming faxes. This is not my first installation but some how I am running out of ideas to solve this problem. CPTrace has given following messages:

I just tried to use local extension to send and receive a fax thru call pilot but no success.

Any idea !!!

mabsar...look at you agents and make sure they have the
tgar and ncos set to allow to make calls.

I tried to send a fax which is local to callpilot...i-e 2195 which is a SDN for fax. I have also turned on remote notification which is working even for long distance calls...

mabsar...what type of server do you have 201i or stand alone
server ?
look at the 2008 built as your channels look at thier
ncos and make sure that ncos will let you make a call
out of the switch.

I have IPE 201i plateform. After your post I rechecked the dialing restrictions and RPL both on switch and CallPilot but these settings looks ok... no restriction.

mabsar...go to ld 20 prt 2008 one of your agents look at your ncos make the switch room phone the same ncos and try to dail a number outside the switch.

Does ncos effect even local dialing within the PABX??
To make the things simple, I am trying to dial local SDN 2195 from local user 2159, in other words I am not dialing any number outside the PABX. SDN 2195 can receive faxes from outside world. This is the problem I am not able to send fax even from one callpilot user to a local SDN within the same PBX. Fax receiving is not a problem.

mabsar...have you tried making the switchroom phone the
same as your callpilot agents to see if that is the trouble.

strmwalker...callpilot agents have same nocs and tgar values as my test phone. Can you compare CPTrace messages of your callpilot (if you had saved some where) with mine when you had ncos or RPL problem?
It seems that there is some thing else other then RPL or NCOS issue.
Anyway all suggestions are welcome.

I have the same issue. I can recieve faxes fine. I do a print to send and it comes up "fax failed to send message."
I am dialing to an in house fax. Tgar and Ncos are fine. That doesn't seem to be my issue either.
81c- suc. 4.5,703t cp4 - 29 ports, 2 fax.
I just don't see where it directs or dials out from cp.

check your fqdn setting in cpmgr under messaging option and compare that to the OS fdsn setting...they MUST be the same.

I did a search on the forum for faxing as I can't send.

I have just upgraded to CP 5 on a 703t.

I have checked my NCOS and TGAR on the CP agent ports - all are OK.

When I try to send out fix the Nortel Fax Printer Driver I receive the following error in my VMB:

I try to send to just the extension of the fax (the 4263 number) and also to the local number but I receive the same error.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients

Subject: TESTING FAX
Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 14:23:45 -0500 (Eastern Standard Time)

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
"Unknown" <FAX=4263@callpilot.xxxx.xxxxxx.on.ca>

Reason: There is a problem with the specified address. Please verify the address. (2)

I have also checked the FQDN on both the CP server and the OS. They are the same.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you.

First of all you do not send a fax to a SDN number unless it is express messaging to a mailbox. Is your fax messaging DN a CDN in the PBX? If not this must be corrected. When sending a test fax set up a number on the PBX that is forwarded to the fax messaging DN. Than test fax number has to be added as a DN to a mailbox with fax messaging capabilities. The test number can be either a phantom 500 port or an ACD queue that is forwarde to the Fax Messaging CDN. This CDN also has to be acquired by CallPilot. This is accomplished by running through config wizzard and rebooting the system.

The 4263 number isn't an SDN though but an analog TN set up directly to a fax machine. Even when I use the seven digit number of the fax I get the same message.

I have tried re-installing the fax printer driver as well, but no luck.

The faxing working for me before. I never had to have a separate CDN for faxing.

take a look at your phantom dn's tgar and ncos also.

Just wanted to update everyone on how I solved this faxing issue.

I believe I mentioned I upgraded to CP 5 two weeks ago. Since then my faxing hasn't worked.

I was poking around and noticed that there is a parameter under Messaging ---> Message Delivery Configuration then under SMTP/VPIM I clicked on Unauthenticated Access Restrictions and noticed that the Delivery to Telephone or Fax was NOT checked off. So I checked it, then tried my faxing again, and it was successful.

I do not know if this was checked off BEFORE I upgraded or not.

Thought I would post my resolution in case anyone else could benefit from it.
