I've seen a few posts about this message but none seem to fit.
I have a simple VFP6 form which Seeks a record in a free table (USEd Shared) and having found it, attempts to replace the value of a few fields. This all worked before my hard disk failed - having reinstalled everything I now can't update.
The table is not read-only. I've set the location for temporary files to be a new empty directory (C:\Fixtemp) that I created. I'm running XP Pro.
If I attempt to change a field when I have any table open, the message "The control is read-only" appears at the foot of the screen.
This must be a simple one, but I can't see it. Help!
Logically this must be a config. proble, but I can't work it out.
