I am connecting with a free ISP, Juno. I connect, and the homepage for Juno starts to load, but after about 1 and half minutes it disconnects, and an error message pops up saying
"Your Dial Up connection has been lost for unknown reasons. Juno will now exit. Error code: 20".
My computer is hooked up to my surge protector which is hooked up to my phone socket in the wall. Any ideas what is causing this, and or how to fix it? Thanks

Try some other free ISPs to see if you get the same thing - if you don't then sounds like its a Juno problem, if you do, then start looking at your modem/dial-up settings. Which o/s are you running?

Ok I'll try some other ISP's, where should I go to look at the modem/dial-up settings? The OS that I'm running is Win 98 FE, with Internet Explorer 6.

The modem icon in control panel will give you access to modem properties (also modem item in device manager), and properties for dial-up icon. You could check modem manufacturer's site for FAQ & if there are any recommended initialisation strings you could use to better configure your modem.
