Using SBS2003 R2
Logged on remotely to server and try to send a 12Kb document to my office PC.
I can see my office PC drive on the server but when I try to send the document
I get a (Wait Icon) for a long time then an cryptic error message with no error code just says Internal error has occurred.
What am I doing wrong?

A bid more information might be useful.

How are you logged on? RWW? VPN?

How are you attempting to "send" the document to the server?

It is still not clear what you are doing.

You are logged onto the server via RWW, and you are attempting to somehow "send" a file to your PC's "C" drive that is on the remote network?

Is there any reason why you dont log onto the remote PC instead of the server, and access the data on the server as and when required?

Can you describe in more detail what is going on.

I created a document on the server thet I want to send to a user.

You are not providing the information required.

Sorry I cannot help you. Hopefully somebody else can pick this up and get the solution for you.

The simplest question would be: Why not log in to OWA and email the file to the user as an attachment?

You could also publish the document to the companyweb and provide a link to it for not just the one user but all.

Thanks Tony for the useful advice.
I could do what you say but I was curious as to why I
couldn't send the document from the server. Should it work on the server and I don't have the proper fix installed?
Why doesn't sending a document from the server to a user work?

Bob...

When you eventually deign to enlighten us as to what method you are attempting to use to "send" the document to the remote pc, I am sure you will get a useful answer.

Currently, I am sitting here wondering if you are using:
1. Email
2. Drag and drop in explorer
3. FTP
4. AN Other

;)

My guess is that he's able to map a drive to his workstation from the server but can't write anything to it.

In that sort of situation, I don't wonder why, I just try something different. There are a dozen of experiences like that each week for a net admin, and most of the time the ends are more important than the means. But people still get stuck on the means.

I will admit it is frustrating here sometimes...that's why I offered a means-agnostic set of solutions.

...SEND is the confusing word here...What is the best word to replace it: copy, email, upload, FTP?
