Cannot see interfaces

Hello folks, I've just tried installing VWIC 1MFT-G703 WAN cards into two routers, an 1841 (12.4(1c)) and a 2611 (12.2(32)) but I cannot see the interfaces by a "show interfaces" command but I can by a "show diag" command and therefore cannot configure them, am I missing a step in the installation process here - I assume they should be plug and play?

A couple options

1) An IOS version conflict. Maybe another IOS version/feature set? Worth a try.
2) Your card is bad?

Have you rebooted the router? Not all cards are hot swappable.

I'm not sure if pigsback was trying to hotswap these cards or not.

My guess is your IOS doesn't support the cards you are trying to install in the router .

Thanks to all of you for your replies. Yes Viperqq I needed to upgrade the IOS on the 2600. I also needed to configure the E1 controller before the card became visible.
