Hi,

I have a problem saving Excel 2007 over the network (WIN XP Prof + Office 2007). I open the files from a network shared folder, I modify the file and when I am trying to save the modified version in the shared folder over the network I receive a message like "\\comp_name\folder_name\file_name.xls is in use. Try again later."
I noticed that is a common problem with Office 2007, I saw a lot of questions on the web. And the only solution is regarding the Anti Virus Software CA eTrust. I am using BitDefender Antivirus and I have no option for Network drives !

Thank you,
Dan Nagy

try removing or disabling bit defender. i believe there is a problem with it.

I am sorry. Removing or changing the AV is not an option !

Thank you for your solution !

not even to try to see if that's the culprit?

We've figured out this EXACT problem at our office...we recently installed Server 03/office 07/bitdefender.

You need to configure each client through the BD deployment tool to NOT LOOK AT THE NETWORK FOLDERS that you are saving to....

AV is STILL running in the background, so viruses can't get around.

Thank you for your help. But what do you mean by " configure each client through the BD deployment tool "
I've just installed the AV from the exe file that was provided, and I have no idea what I have to enable/disable of the AV engine.

Can u help me ?
Thank you
