IE
Hiya all,
am new to SBS2003 and have Trend Client/Server Messege suite installed. However, when I try and run the control app I keep getting security warnings ( run/save this exe) if I run them nothing happens.
If I try and add the folder to the IE trusted interent zone then IE tells me it cannot take wildcards, which there are none of.
I have tryed Trend's support tbut they have been no help.
Any one use Trend? anyone any idea of how to rectiry this before I lose what little hair I have left!

Thanks
C.

Hi Mark
thanks for the reply. If I browse to the ofcscan folder on the server and select index.htm file the first screen opens but I cannot access any menu items, the exe files that they menu options call will not display. I get a windows 'open/save' dialog, if I open them then a dos window appears for a second and disappears!

Might it be a security issue with SBs 2003? I'm not familiar with sbs2003, only NT/Server 2000.

Any ideas?
thanks
C.

Officescan is managed via a web interface. You need to access it via the start menu so you open via the url and not via the file.

I hope you find this post helpful.

hi guys,
SBS Premium I think, version 5.2(build 3790.srv03_gdr.05225-1827).

If I try to access it through the webinterface then nothing comes up. It seems like a security issue. Is there a way to setup the control program in a standard app way and not a web interface? If not then how do I go about fixing this. I removed and re-installed it today and still nothing. I cannot add the web address to the trusted zones in IE6 either??!!

Thanks again for getting back to me dkediger/markdmac.

When you installed did you tell it to create its own virtual site and not install into the default web site?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

If it is Premium, And you are using ISA server, then you probably need to change TCP port that Trend operates on.

See Trend KB 19788 here.

Enter a port like 8181, 8282 or some other similar number.

You will also need to change any internet shortcuts to the Web Interface. Generally, there should be one in the OFCSCAN share, as well as on your start menu. Specify the port number you used above in the shortcuts:
Hopefully that will get you into the web management interface.

Note that this is all PRE SP1/ISA2004 info.

Thanks guys. I'm out on site tomorrow and i'll check those settings. I do know that the dsl router is on 8080, so maybe that is the problem. i'll post back once I've been able to look at it tomorow.
