I was just wondering if anyone has had this same problem. I can run reports manually from crystal reports, but I cannot run it automatically from enterprise 9 anymore. I did change my windows domain administrator username and password. I have also changed my exchange 2003 administrator password. I am new to crystal so I am not sure if this caused it.

Here is the error I am getting in enterprise9.

CrystalReportViewer

"Failed to open a rowset. File 9444893b39dce0.rpt."

Unable to retrieve Object.
"Failed to open a rowset. File 9444893b39dce0.rpt."

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Marc

I did install the service pack 5 and 6 and still no go.

The error messages make this look like a database error. There are a couple of things you can check:

1. When you're running from Crystal are you running on your workstation or on the server? If you're not on the server, make sure Crystal is installed on the server, at least temporarily, and try to run it from there. This is the only way to see if your database connection is configured properly on the server.

2. Look at the properties of the report that's published in CE. Is the database connection/ID/password still valid?

3. Look at the CE services. What user id and password are they running under? Is it still valid?

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

i cannot figure out where to look for the the database connection/ID/password. Can you tell me where to look for this? I think this might be it. Thanks

I'm not familiar with CE - I work in BO XI - so I'm not sure exactly where to tell you to look. It should be in the properties of the report object (NOT the instances, but the report "template").

Hi.
Are all reports not running eg even the sample ones that are shipped with CE ?

If it is only ones for a specific database then go into the Crystal Management Console, select one of your reports and then there will be a "Process" tab or something similar that will allow you to view the Database logon info. This should show the logon and password being used. Check that these are both populated and correct.

Quick question : is it only scheduled reports that are failed or the view on-demand ones also ie if you click VIEW from ePortfolio on one of your problem reports do they run ?

If the account used to install CE 9 changed then that might cause it.

You may need to change that info for the CE services.
