Cannot retrieve voicemail

I was having line trouble and rebooted my bcm50. When it came back up feature 981 would not work. When i try to use the feature the readout just says end. The tech from qwest is about to wipe the whole voicemail system, but I don't want to go thru the whole setup for our company again. Has anyone experienced this problem?
