I inherited a customer that needs to upgrade from 3.0XC to 7.0XC. Sales took the order, but did not build in a lot of labor for contingency, so I am trying to the system in house to 7.0XC in order to avoid a potential blowout onsite. I backed up the 3.0XC but cannot restore to my lab system. The error that NRU generates is "System programming option cannot be completed becase a re-evaluation/auto-admin session is in progress at the system of the customer" - I know this is generated from the unused Companion system looking for a UTAM code (a major bug with 3.0). Does anyone know how to bypass or disable this? There is no Companion on the system - re-eval status is disabled. Nortel is no help, since this is an end-of-life product and will only support after the system blows up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yuo probabaly mean backing up/ restoring the programming
is the lab system also at 3.0XC?

Yes the lab is also 3.0XC.
I found a release notice regarding 3.0XC and backup and restore failures. The correct working issue for the software is 5.11. The customer site is the correct working issue (I was able to take the backup), the lab system is wi 5.01. I was hoping there was a way to bypass that issue or disable something in the system to bypass the bug and do the restore. Sometimes other techs and Vendors have found some backdoors around problems. I guess I will have to locate a 3.0XC wi 5.11 or higher in order to do this in-house.

i'm not aware of this problem - keep us posted if you find a work around.

3.0 has to be done in multiple steps
to 4.x
to 6.x
to 7.x

pls read 6.x as 6.1
(as 6.1 is the only one that supports direct plug and play upgrade)
