Malwarebytes finds two incidences of "pup.bprotector", and cannot remove it. I'm using Win 7, Home Premium – SP1 on a Toshiba laptop.

I’ve tried many manual remove instructions from different websites, and It still shows up after reboot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

1. Clean out temp files with CCleaner
2. Remove your anti-virus program and reboot
3. Run Combofix *** - right click Run As Administrator
Let it do its thing, it may take a while. Let it reboot the computer UNLESS it asks you to. Likely it will handle all reboots itself. It may take 30 minutes to run.

*** There is a small chance that it could render your computer non-bootable if it quarantines an infected system file and doesn't replace it properly. I've seen this in only maybe 1 in 100 computers. Roll the dice with this in mind.

Reminder, in case you haven't already done this... Be sure, if able, to backup any data off the drive first. [wink]

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57

Does anyone have a manual removal method? Nothing seems to get rid of this pest.

Did you run combofix and it didn't remove the malware. Tell us what you DID. If that's the case, start thinking RELOAD from scratch.
