The HP Deskjet 5650 is designed to allow the user to remove a cartridge only at appropriate times, e.g. not while it is printing.
Panels beneath the cartridges are set in a position so close to the cartridges that they cannot be taken out. In principle, when it is OK to remove the cartridges, the panels are shifted to a lower position so they can be pulled out.
Now mine has the problem that the panels move out of the way at arbitrary times, and usually prevent me from taking the <expletive deleted> cartridges out.
Questions for HP geniuses:
(1) What situations are supposed to cause the cartridges to be removable?
(2) How can I get my printer to behalf normally?
I'm close to throwing it out and getting another brand.
Many thanks
