I am running windows xp professional. I am attempting to remove a user account. When I try to do this by going to control panel / users / Pick an account to change / delete account, the system just hangs up.
Is the Profile corrupted? It may be trying to delete files and can;t access them to delete them.
Anyway, you can try to do it from the User Manager.
Right Click My Computer -> Manage
Users and Groups -> Users -> Right Click on the User to delete, and select Delete.
Then you'll have to go in an delete the files in the relevant User Profile folder (or the entire folder) if you want to.

Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
Thanks for both of your responses. I had already tried going through My Computer -- with no luck. However, Vacunita's not about trying to delete files and can't - made me try it through the control panel but leaving files. That worked.
