We just received a new range of outside IP's and gave one to our GW 5.5 server so it sits right behind the router/firewall (instead of going through bordermanager as before). Outgoing mail sends fine but we receive no incoming mail. I have checked the receive threads and they are not maxed. I went ahead and increased the number but that didn't help. I have checked the resolv.cfg and the route.cfg and they both have the correct information. I believe all the smtp/mime settings are correct. Obviously, I have restarted the GWIA, restarted all of the GW apps, and even the server. No messages are appearing in the "Receive" in the gwia. We are running guinevere but it is not the problem (I have checked the configuration and ruled it out).

You said you just received a new range of IP Addresses? Did you update your MX record of your domain? Your MX Record may still be pointing to your old IP Address.

Suggest you go out to type in your domain name and see what IP Address is handling your mail.

If you know for a fact that your MX Record has been changed then when was it changed. Most DNS Records take about 24 hours to replicate out onto the internet. I've seen it take about a week for the new entries to take affect in all areas.

Since you mentioned the new IP Address range I would focuse my attention on the DNS entries for your domain.

Thank you very much. We are a k12 school corp and we don't do our own dns. i had contacted our dns provider to make the changes which they did but the state of Indiana which controls the root to which we reside, hadn't yet been notified. You pointed me in the right direction and now we're in business...thanks!
