Hi,

Received the following message.

20211 - Cannot read system catalog(sysprocplan).ISAM error:key value locked.

Any idea hot to resolve this please.

Thanks

Hi,

You do not say when do you get this error message. Anyway, it seems to me that this a non-fatal in nature, because it says "key value locked." You may retry, and see if the error has vanished, owing to removal of lock on a object.

If the error is persistent, try to do an integrity check on catalogs through:
oncheck -cc

Hi Shriyan,

Thanks for your reply.

This error appeared when the users try using the application.

When checked for locks for table locks, found one user had many locks on the sysprocplan table. How the particular user could have locked the sysprocplan table. Is there any max access to the sysprocplan table?

The informix version is online Version 5.10.

When we asked the user to exit, things were fine. But the user said the type of transaction tried in this case is usual process.

Thanks

do you have
update statistics for procedures on 5.10
if so run it after "update statistics for table ...."

or any alter table etc... commands

it stops the system updating the sysprocplan
The sysprocplan will optimize the procedure on the first time you call the procedure, after you update stats on tables or alter the table structure etc.
The optimization will lock the sysprocplan table.
