cannot ping

I cannot ping across my fw1. I believe it's rulebase but cannot determine why it's not working?

If your rule base is setup correctly you shouldn't be able to ping a firewall. You will only be able to access the Firewal through the Management Module. This is to protect the firewall itself from attack, it drops every packet that is sent directly to it. [sig][/sig]

Actually by default the ICMP Ping request is disabled across firewall. To ping across the firewall you'll have to enable this feature. For that you can go to firewall policy editor in that you select Policy Tab and then select Properties from where you can enable the ping. I think this might answers your question. [sig][/sig]
