cannot open links in Outlook

I cannot open any links in Outlook anymore...I'll get the Locate Link Browser screen--if Internet Explorer was either open or closed I'd still be able to get the link, but not anymore.
FYI: I recently deleted FireFox (wanted to try it out)as my browser, and this problem occurred right after. Another thing: if I place the cursor over the link in Outlook I see "blocked::http...rest of the address" is there any way to 'unblock' this??
