Have XP home, taskbar inadvertantly move to top of desktop, icons disapeared and I cannot get taskbar back to the bottom of computer. I have right clicked on blank space on taskbar, unchecked (lock the taskbar) it will let me resize but not move to bottom or sides. Also cannot place icons on the desktop.

If this is a result of some error on your part, perhaps System Restore will correct it.
If it is because of some malware, try this.

You could try right-clicking on the Desktop/ Arrange Icons By../ tick "Show Desktop Icons".
