I've suddenly lost the ability to map a share to a drive on a specific server.

If I try to map to the share from explorer I get the error

"the drive could not be mapped because no network was found"

Some details:
* I'm connected to a 2003 server and trying to map to a share on another 2003 server.
* The access rights on the share are setup correctly.
* I can map to this share on other servers.
* I can ping the shares server IP from the target server
* The net use command also fails.
* I am trying to map using \\ IP address \ share name.

* I CAN connect to the share if I use the run command, I just cant map it to a drive in explorer which i need to do as scripts depend on the mapping.

Any ideas ??

can you access it through explorer, normal viewing \\i.p.add.ress\share

Is there some new feature with Serv2003 on the share folder that can set permissions for mapping or such actions that this specific server hasn't been accredited for? That is a random pie in the sky guess.

cheers for the reply

I managed to get a window with no users on the server and rebooted. The fault has now cleared.

Bit of a stange one.
