Hi

I have just upgraded to VFP 9.0. I am using Installshield Express 5.0 to create a single image exe to distribute my program. Under redistributables I have selected M VFP 9.0 runtime libraries and M VFP HTML help support library. When I install my program on a PC I get the error message
Cannot locate Visual Foxpro Support library VFP 9.0. I am doing exactly what I did with VFP 8.0 Installshield express 3.5. What has changed? Do I need to do something else.

Hello RandallJ

I have been using SG Pro to install VFP 9... beside my .exe file I am copying the following files to the target machines:

Code:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP\vfp9r.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP\VFP9RENU.DLL
C:\WINNT\system32\msvcr71.dll
C:\WINNT\system32\GdiPlus.dll

None of them seem to need to be registered and they all end up in the WINSYS folder according to SG Pro which in practice means the c:\winnt\system32 folder (or similar)

This works well for me - except on Win 95 machines, where vfp9 is somewhat unwellcome!

Regards

Griff

Thanks Griff for your speedy reply, however all 4 files that you have listed are present in the those directories.

Hi RandallJ!

They ALL need to go into the target machines system32 folder (although they MIGHT work in the same folder as the .exe is installed).

I manually added them to the system32 directory and this still didn;t work. I then tried to included them in unders files in Installshield and it told me that these files are already included in the merge modules.

Sorry then - I'm not able to help, mine are working fine doing a simple copy to the the system32 folder...

Have you 'googled' for vfp runtime support?

Regards

No will try that now. I also loaded Installshield 3.5 and used that with VFP 9.0 and it works fine - so there is definately something specific about Installshield 5.0.
