Cannot Locate IP Office Via Manager

Hello all, first off im new here and looking for some answers.

I have a IP412 i have it into my network and 2 phones attached which all work fine. I am trying to get into it via Office Manager V6.0(1201) but for some odd reason the unit doesn't become discoverable.

any assistance is appreciated.

Are you using MS Vista? Have the same issue when using Vista. Have to use the ip-address.

i can ping it on XP and vista but neither systems will connect via Manager....i see activity on the NICs but no connection

I know you said you can ping it but when I've had similar problems in the past I would connect a pc/laptop directly to port 1 and run Wireshark captures looking for broadcast from the IPO. It will confirm what IP it's set to. Disable any firewalls if on. I had an XP sp2 laptop that would never work via discovery, I always had to set the address to connect. It was a real pain in the !#^ when I was in IPO boot camp. I looked like an idiot.

My better half would point out that's not too hard for me to accomplish.

Has the unit been upgraded by someone else but not upgraded your manager? If you go through Advanced, upgrade do you se it then? If you do it's at a higher level than you are which is why you can't see it. If not plug straight in the LAN port and try from there, if it works it's a network issue.

I have connected to the LAN2 port which is getting the default ip address of 192.168.43.1 I connect to that port via cross -over cable my pc recieves an ip 43.2 but still cannot locate the system. The laptop I am using has vista ultimate :/ I have thr firewall disable and SAV disabled.I can ping the system from command line but does not want to be found. It does connect to vmpro so there is definitely and ip address working on the network. I had upgraded it to 4.1 (1201) about a month ago via a win xp laptop.

amriddle01 is right try to upgrade then you will see if your manager is a lower release and can't see it.
BTW what release is your manager?

Dont' use a crossover in the Lan port use a standard patch.

i have tried direct lan straight cat5 cable still un discoverable via direct to vista pc and xp pc...i tried setting defaults and still not found...do you think this system is now dead?

you said that you can ping the system, so try and unplug the system from the network and ping it again. Maybe you have something else using the same IP address

well i can ping it when im directly connected

via 192.268.43.1

but on the lan i cannot because i do not know the lan ip...i did a network scan and cannot decipher the ip...i am at a dead end.

sorry I didn't remember that, it is really weird, but if you want to know the IP address then connect the DTE cable and reboot it, it will come up in HEX and then you can try it that way. you will see something like C0 A8 bla bla which is then 192.168.something

ok then i will only know the IP address , still would not be able to connect to it via manager should i call the vendor i purchased it from?

u are broadcasting with 255.255.255.255 (left bottom)
Try with the ipadres 192.168.43.1 in there
Sometime a broadcast does not work

I don't know, i had it my self a couple of times
But after a fresh new windows install it did work again
But i think that is a bit too much for resolving this
I never search for a solution

Had the same thing once, uninstalled everything from avaya even the dotnet 1.1 and 2.0 and Java.
