Cannot import Illy CS into Flash MX

Hi, I am having a problem exporting a fairly simple drawing to Flash MX (version 6 ?). I have tried doing it as a Illy 10 file, an Illy 8 file and an EPS file. Nothing seems to work. When I do the export as an swf, it brings up the player module but not the main program. When I close out to go to the main program, it closes completely (not surprising considering that it's an swf file). If I save as Illy 8 and try to open, it tells me that I should be doing this as an EPS file. When I try to open the EPS file, I get a message telling me that part or all of the file may be missing and then nothing opens other than layer info that has no data.

I have used Flash before but am fairly new to Illy and this is my first attempt at file imports with the two programs. What am I doin g wrong? I did a search and found people with similar problems but no solutions that apply to my situation.

The best way is to have the image open in Illustrator (for example), copy it, and then paste it into Flash. This is because occasionally you may have errors when you try to import files of certain types.

Try that

Try to use the "Export" function instead of "save as"
choose "Illustrator Legacy" where you can choose te export a copy in an earlier version, I usualy choose Illustrator 3, your color might sligtly change for some reason but you can adjus that in your property window when you select your graphic after you saved it as a symbol in Flash.
