I have set up a ftp.domain.com virtualhost in ftpaccess. My user is supposed to be chrooted. I want this user to be chrooted in a particular directory tree. An example of the passwd file is:
shnoe:x:509:510::/home/client/./snoe/:/etc/ftponly
the ftaccess file is set with guest and guestgroup.
the client folder has the lib/etc/ and bin folders all set to group daemon with permissions 111.
No matter how I try (I've tried the stuff at wu-ftp), It will not work. Usually the error is cannot set guest permissions 550.

If someone knows hoe to get this to work, even from a fresh start, please give me something!

Thanks

In a later post I replied to which i think is yours

I suggest tossing wu_ftp and going to proftp
wu_ftp without some major hacks will not chroot to home directories.
so get proftp at and start over for ftp server.
It chroots to home directories by default...no real advanced setups to do this
either... and it picks up virtual domains to with no fuss or muss.
