I'm adding a VGMC card to a CS1000 4.5 using element manager and I get this error "cannot FTP to card" any work arounds that you know of, or is this card bad ?

i have had this issue on several installs ,usally the clear is to reinstall new software on compact flash card and then try again.

How do I reinstall the software to the Compact Flash card ?

From element manager / Software / Servers and Media cards select your VGMC and load appropriate SW avaliable within SS

Hi Tippman71

Do not want to mislead however I had issues also when I added an additional node. Cannot remember the error message exactly however the symptom sounds familiar. Another symptom I had was that to logg into the line card I had to to use the default login vs the synchronized PBX password. To make a long story short, I was running 4.5 on my call server and the signalling server however the MC32 card was actually configured for IP Line 4.1. The upload was on the signalling server and until I upgraded the MC32 to 4.5 I could not get things in Element manager to perform correctly.

Thought I would mention as food for thought........

But I thought If I cannot add it through element manger I won't be able to work on it through element manager (update software). I'll try it tomorrow morning and I will let you all know. Thank you all for your help.

I had a case where the compact flash didn't had any files on it. If you have that case, just copy the content of a running CF to your PC, then copy to the faulty CF
