Cannot find wchw.exe

Error message says

"windows cannotfind wchw.exe this programme is needed foropening files of type Applications.
couldn't load as run 'vi_grm.exe'specified in the WIN.INI file make sure the file exists on ur computeror remove referenceto itin win.ini file.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm running win98se.
Looked for both the files that you named and couldn't find them on this pc. Makes me think this has to do with an application you put on your pc.
If you can, look under msconfig (Start/Run) to see if win.ini or your Startup list gives you any clues.

Are you getting the wchw.exe error when trying to run programs? If so you either have a virus or a trojan. Download exefix08.com from here and run it. It should fix that problem of not being able to run some programs without the error.

Now see if you can run programs without that error. Then run a virus scan here:

If that scan finds nothing then download The Cleaner which is free to try and run a scan with it. It's a trojan specific scanner.

I believe vi_grm.exe has to do with your video card. Removing the error would be easy enough but are you having any display problems or have you recently reinstalled the video driver?
