Cannot find roaming profile during login

We are using Windows XP Pro on a Server 2000 network (approx 25 users). Every once-in-a-while a user log's in & the system cannot find their roaming profile (as if they chouldn't connect to the server) and opens up their local (I guess) profile, still, they do have access to server. Has anyone experienced this and/or have a solution?

Are they logging onto the domain or local machine? This can happen if the users are logging onto the XP machine locally and not on to the domain.

Thanx for responding! JAMIE, Using the event viewer on the server I am not seeing ANY events (that itself might be a problem) nor did I see any event on that local machine that whould shed any light. GONENUTS(for some reason i have this feeling that this is not your real name), During the logon the user did logon on to the domain and NOT to his local machine.
