I recently upgraded our Networker system from 5.5 to 6.01. It is running on NT 4.0 sp5. One of the multiple problems that I have encountered, is that one of the clients cannot find the Networker server through the Networker User interface. The problem is that I have to recover a particular file from that client, and have had no luck. When I try to connect from the client, the error reads "Cannot Find Networker Server". When I try to perform the recovery from the Networker Server, I get an error which reads "Cannot start session with server (server name): Unable to receive". Has anybody experienced similar problems? Legato support hasn't been to supportive with this

As a temporary step, why don't you do a directed recovery to another system and then transfer the file. This might at least get your file back

Try this from the RUN command

winworkr.exe -s "backup host"

I tried doing that and had no luck. I received the same message. I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with the client index on the server. When I view the index it indicates that the size of that particular client's index is 0. However when I view the details, it indicates the save sets are up to date.

I suppose I should clarify my update. The -s servername command worked, yet I still cannot perform the recovery. I still get the message "Cannot start session with server (servername): Unable to recieve".

I was finally able to recover the file. The media index for that particular client had somehow been corrupted. I was able to restore the index using the "nsrck -L 7" command.
