I service a client that has Veritas BE 9.0. There is an internal Sony DDS AutoLoader in the W2K server. How do I eject the magazine? So far the only way I have been able to eject the mag is to reboot the server and enter the BIOS before the OS loads, then I can press the eject button. I am pretty new using BE, but have yet to find the answer. Can I set up a job to eject the magazine? If so how do I do that? I am really looking for the best solution because I will be teaching the onsite "Non-technical" person how to pull a tape and ad a new one once a week.

Thanks!
TJ

Hi

There is an option to eject the tape after the job completes
If you look at the job set up Page and select the properties of the backup job you will be able to check the box to eject the tape under Destination/Device and Media

Hope this helps

If you right click on the autoloader in the devices view and choose unlock - then are you able to eject the magazine?

justin2000,

I have the same problem. If I right click on the autoloader in the device view and choose unlock - then I am able to eject the magazine. Is there a way to set it up to eject the magazine every Saturday or Sunday night?

Thank you,
Harry

I think there is a becmd (need to check this out) - it's the DOS command prompt for running jobs etc.

check it out, you can add a batch file to the post command of the backup to get it to unlock the loader for you.

justin2000,
That was the answer I was looking for. Thanks a million! The Batch file would work if I wanted to go that route, but I just needed t obe able to show my client how to get the magazine out to take out a tape and put another back in it's place.

Thanks again.
