I have a table, specifically SYSALERTS in the MSDB database, which is not as it should be. Several of the columns have names different to what they should be. This has the effect that certain functions within Enterprise Manager do not work. Perhaps this happened what we converted from 6.5 to 7.0 .

I know what the table should look like but I cannot drop or alter the table because it is a "system" table and therefore protected by SQL server.

Any suggestions please.

You can access the system tables directly by using sp_configure to set the option 'allow updates' to 1. However as far as I am aware you can't alter the structure of a system table so I guess that includes dropping the table.

Hope this helps

Dave
