IE6 refuses to load https pages:'Cannot find server or DNS Error' is the message. It doesn't appear to even attempt to load the pages, so I used Paros to view the request & responses - and it appears to receive the data normally after all. Just will not display it!

I have tried the following so far:

-Scanned for virus, trojan, malware etc - nothing
-winsock fix
-IE6 reinstall
-sfc /scannow
-reregistered Softpub.dll, Wintrust.dll, Initpki.dll, Dssenh.dll, Rsaenh.dll, Gpkcsp.dll, Sccbase.dll, Slbcsp.dll & Cryptdlg.dll

BUT!! I VPN'd into my work and used their proxy server, and https works fine!! I believe this proves that the browser is not at fault after all?

Can anyone advise if they have ever came across this type of problem before?

Many thanks!!

IE6 SP1. I am quite familiar with this microsoft page, having tried most fixes already!
These fixes only seem to apply to conditions whereby ssl does not work...full-stop. Not the situation that I have where ssl works through a proxy via VPN only!!

I tried the IEFix after finding a thread about it, but it failed to sort this out. I am seriously considering a complete XP rebuild!
