I have a user who has a network drive mapped (J:). When I try to disconnect the J: drive, it says the network name cannot be found. If I try to remap the drive, it says the local device name is in use. This is local to the machine as it does it under anyone's id. I have tried it under Windows and by using the NET USE command. If I open the J: drive, it goes right to the network location (of course it is the wrong location). Anyone have any ideas? I have never seen this problem before. Thanks.

Check for a "subst" command eg subst j: c:\myplace\study

In Win98 this was in Autoexec.bat. Not sure where they put it in w2k.
