Hi

We occasionally have a problem where print jobs freeze on printers shared in the Active Directory. When we delete the jobs, all jobs are removed apart from the job that had frozen.

It seems the only way to solve this is to reboot the server, which is not entirely pracical.

I have tried restarting the spooler service, but this does not help.

Any help would be great

Thanks b

In the print manager delete all outstanding jobs, then go to the print server and stop/start the spooler service. This deletes all jobs in the server, and you do not have to reboot the server.

If your printer has a large amount of RAM, it may be necessary to reboot it to clear the RAM from a stuck job, but usually deleting solves that once the spooler stops trying to refresh the printer.

HTH,

David

Hi,

You might need to delete the actual spool files once the spooler service has stopped.
