Cannot delete maibox

the system is : Nostar voice mail 4.0
I have simple procedure to create or delete mailbox
(It is easier this way rather then trying to fix a corrupt one)

My proble today is that I cannot delete a certain mailbox with ma usual procedure
Fonction 983, password, admin, BTE, delete, ...etc
It just work work

I cannot evne reset the password


Is there another way to get rid ofit??

I Don't think so
I have around 30 users here
They all have access to thier individual mailbox
I'M not an expert,

It is just cheaper for me to try to
fix the problem then to call the phone company

(Bell canada)
 
why do you want to know that?
IT's an internal number

 
because certain mailboxe #s cannot be deleted
Do you get error/ warning messages when trying to do this?
 
number is 281
I saw no error

But the weird thing is when I exit the config menu,
you still see the word "mess" on the phone attached to that maibox (they are configuren in french here)

Is it that you cannot delete a mailbox if there is at least one unread message in it??




 
Put Feature 65 on that set and see if it says anything. Maybe its a message from another set.
 
What does it say when you try and delete mailbox 281 ?

If your problem is just the "message" thing, do what BOB suggests.
 
Feature # 65 to clear the message on the screen.

Check if any of the options in CCR point to 281. i.e option 1 is LVMSG to ext 281.
If you still cannot delete the mailbox then reboot the vmail system.
If you still cannot delete the mail box then re-install and program the whole vmail over again to remove the bugs, make sure to backup the Sekur file in F915 first as this may conation and key codes you have purchased.

 
I ran into the same problem a while back. If a VM reboot doesn't fix it, then like curlycord said, you will have to reprogram from scratch.

Make sure you've got good notes on programming before you initialize, and give people time to retreive their messages.
 
When installing MOH for KSU systems,why do some phones in the system have to be reprogramed to turn off the back ground music from some phones- Feat. #86 to turm off. if not music on hold runs on speaker of phone??

In future you can click Forum then scroll down to bottom to start a new thread or topic.

MOH source provides both the MOH and the background music.
If the KSU never had music people may have pressed F86 to turn music on or by mistake and why you may need to turn them off...specialy if you get a promo recording instead of music.


 
I don,t have the knowledge or the experience to reboot the system

I'll see with the vendor what they can do,,

If they find anything , l'II be posting it soon

Look for black power cord under the NAM

Pull it out and wait a minute then put it back in.

You can also do via F915 if you have the password but passwords not permitted here but try a search.

Well, it looks like my problem is sort of solved.
When I have this type of problem, I usually call Bell canada programming service ($85 CA / hour)
and this is what happenned(It is their explanation):

Looks like my 281 was linked to an unknomn Mailbox.
The problem was How to find it. (No magic trick)
We had to go across all my possible extension to find a mailbox without any link

They say that sometime custumer creates a mail box,, for employe that do not have a phisical phone
but they can still get their messages from anywhere

Anyway, we just modev the NA from 281 to 282 and it solved my problem. Even if I still cannot use the 281 anymore.

DIR listing shows only when name is recorded (and dir:y)
