MY
Hi all,

I would be grateful if you guys can help me on this topic. i already log my report to Ericsson regarding this issue but i need a fast answer on this.

nevertheless, here's the chronology of the fault :
------------------------------------------------------------

My question :
Hi, we've add 1 new 19" LIM(LIM2) in one existing lim consono(LIM1) and upgraded the system from BC12 to TSWsp3 using lim disposition without Group Switch(2LIMnoGS). Currently we are using 1 PCM link and want to add 1 more PCM link after the installation. it seems like no error when initiating the linking(GJLII) and printing(GJLSP). But there is an error(GJC not represented) when we tried to print GJTSP. the printed channels will stop on the new link/equipment on 19" LIM and present GJC not represented. thus leading us to failed to backup the system(buffer transfer error). We did test using both GJUL4/1 and GJUL4/11 but the outcome was the same. I've run a test installation on our lab to initiate the second link inside my LIM disposition and only by doing this i manage to view all the free channels. but if i try to add new link after installation the GJC not represented error occurs the same.

Ericsson replied:
Hi, If I understood correctely, you managed to load the system, the 2 LIMs using just one PCM LINK. Now you are trying to add a second LINK. First of all, I want to know what are the board positions of the GJU-L boards of the link you are trynig to add. In both LIMs. When installing a 2 LIMs system without GS, it is recommended to place the GJU-L in the same postions of the the two LIMS. For instance PCM link 1- BPOS=1-0-00 with 2-0-00 PCM link 2- BPOS=1-0-10 with 2-0-10 or 1-1-00 with 2-1-00 if 2 magazines are used. IF they do not match, the link will fail.

My next replied:
Yes, you got the info correctly. The GJUL-4 position is PCM link 1- BPOS=1-0-00 with 2-0-00, PCM link 2- BPOS=1-1-00 with BPOS 2-1-00. I have run another test using lim disposition with GS but the error still occured too. What i found out is to pre-edit the second GJU-L board position in the lim disposition data (using with or without GS). But it is pointless because it will be the same when you try to add new/third PCM link after the system loads. It is advisable to use the same slot position for the link but base on my experience it doesn't matter where you put your GJU-L board position as long as it is 32-time slot. In my case now, i already tried the position you proposed and the other position but the fault still cant be resolve.

Regards.

I think that a system with 2 Lims with no GS, you must initiate the PCM with :
GJCOI:EQU=1-1-00-00,EQUB=2-1-00-00;

Have you initiated the link in booth lim:
GJLII:EQU=1-0-00-0,GSMULT=0-10;
GJLII:EQU=2-0-00-0,GSMULT=0-12;
and
GJLII:EQU=1-1-00-0,GSMULT=0-14;
GJLII:EQU=2-1-00-0,GSMULT=0-16;
?

thanks for replying.
aau2,
GJCOI command cannot be used in the configuration in the 2 LIMs without GS. it only can be use when with GS.

mundus,
GJLII:EQU=1-0-00-0,GSMULT=0-10; <---initiated in my lim disposition.
GJLII:EQU=2-0-00-0,GSMULT=0-12; <---initiated in my lim disposition.

and for the 2nd PCM link(below), it failed to be viewed using GJLSP after being add. to make it worst, i cant do a system dump after that due to the 2nd link is faulty.
GJLII:EQU=1-1-00-0,GSMULT=0-14; <---initiated after system load.
GJLII:EQU=2-1-00-0,GSMULT=0-16; <---initiated after system load.

any idea?

Guys,

Correct me if i am wrong as until now I am not fortunate to play with 19" Servers ...

I am not sure if you are using IPLU in 19" ( LIM 2 )... With my limited info on LBP 22, I understand that GJUL card is replaced with IPLU...
Not sure if you can combine IPLU & GJUL for connectivity between LIM's or Use GJUL on LBP 22 magazine...

Cheers,

GJUL is still supported in LBP22.
in fact TS 3.1 supports pcm links.

Maybe wrong data in your lim disp., so try this:
CNLDI:LIM=1,GSMULT=0-0,UNIT=
CNLDI:LIM=2,GSMULT=0-2,UNIT=

Hi guys, thanks for all the reply.

i've finally come with a solution. that is by using the LIM DISP without GS, you have to put the GJUL4 board in the same position and magazine in order to make the linking is active.

For exp : you have to use same BPOS like 1-0-00 to 2-0-00 and 1-1-00 to 2-1-00 or 1-0-30 to 2-0-30 and 1-1-30 to 2-1-30.

There is no documentation on these config in ALEX. This is a finding on my testing and done by Ericsson too.

to Singhbrindisi :
IPLU is being use in TS 3.1 as lim over ip as a solution for linking rather than using the GJUL.
but please correct me if i was wrong, i believe that this two cards can be use as a linking backups by having two different linkage - lim over ip n GS.

Hi,

Thanks for the update daddy & sx0sx...

It took you time to come onto this solution but this was recommended by Ericsson as indicated in your query earlier..

Good to know it got fixed this way..

Pls confirm that IPLU is substitute for GJUL & ELU 32 in TSW??

IPLU replaces ELU32 in Telephony Switch (=TSW)

IPLU can be used as interlim rtp resource or as rtp resource in Telephony server (=TS)
from 3.1 one can use GJUL as system link (=pcm resource)

please note that you can't mix : that is, you can't have LIM 1 connected via IPLU and LIM 2 via GJUL.
