cannot copy I386 folder 1

I cannot copy the I386 folder from the winxp pro cd. I get an error message: 'cannot copy DIGPRIUP: cannot read from the source file or disk'. I know it's not the machine because i've tried other machines also. It isn't the cd either because I installed winxp pro from it on the same machine - i just want to copy the I386 folder onto the machine as it's best practice.Any ideas?

Have you tried using XCOPY with the /C switch?
/C Continue copying even if an error occurs.

Assuming the CD is in Drive D:

xcopy d:\i386 c:\i386 /i /s /e /c
