I am having a problem with my clients getting the following message.

Cannot connect to the Citrix Server:
The Citrix Server you have selected can not be located.

If I reboot the server they are then able to log back on. This has been an ongoing problem for quite a while now but now it is happening daily.

Anyone have any ideas??

Windows 2k server with Citrix XP

See if the IMA service is stopping on the server. Check event log for errors.

I do not see any errors in event log for IMA. I'll keep hunting, Thanks

Probably won't see any errors in event log.
Just check if service is started.
Also check XML port and see if you can telnet to <serverip>:1494

I had this issue a couple of months ago. I narrowed it down to an issue on one of our data collectors...and would happen the day after our weekly reboots happen. After taking the problem data collector offline and promoting the next preferred, the problem resolved itself.

Forgot to mention that the IMA service was running w/ no error in the event logs. The issue would go away temporarily if the IMA service was restarted...but would reappear after the weekly reboot.

Hmmm I always leave it as All servers in the zone but no preference

We've got a medium sized environment, so being specific eliminates potential issues that could occur in relation to elections, and also the network chatter during elections...especially during weekly reboots. Our preferred server is a dedicated data collector w/ no published apps. I wouldn't trust one of Office servers with 100 concurrent users to act as the data collector collecting information about another 100 servers' sessions. Mama mia.

Point taken. However I am sure the problem is that the server (any server) is not responding to requests.
I have seen servers that switch off the respond to broadcasts tick boxes, although it should only do that if there is a pre XP server found it does it occasionally. Don't know why but it just does. Worth a look anyway :)

I am having this issue as well and it has been an ongoing issue for months. THere is no reason that i can see that would be causing this. I hve plenty of license available, over 150 in the pool shared between two 1.8 metaframe servers. restarting the ICA browser service does not help, nor does restarting the XML service.

Rebooting is out of the question for the number of people using the servers.

Any ideas besides from the ones mentioned above?
