I have tried to have them transfer me into the system with *10, but the modem doesn't pick up. Is there any way to reset the modem, without doing a power down on the PBX?

I don't know of a way to reinitialize without taking the system out of service, but it would only be down for a minute or so anyway. This shouldn't be necessary anyway.

Can the customer access intercom and then dial *10 to see if the modem answers with carrier tone? Also, does the customer immediately release from the call after dialing Transfer *10? Brian Cox

They get no carrier tone.

I've got another system that answers, but it disconnects when I try to enter the password. Does this one need a kick in the rear too?

Actually, I had a case like this recently where a customer of ours got no carrier when dialing *10 and it turned out to be a Merlin II R3 system which can't be programmed with WinSPM. Is this a possibility? A Legend R3 will have a PCMCIA slot for a backup card. A Merlin II does not.

Is the other Legend a higher release than R3? If so then the default password is craftr4. Brian Cox

WINspm will work with R3 But It will Tell you you cannot use the Quick access features and revert to the Standard SPM that is built into the WinSPM program.
