before i upgrade my PC to Vista Bussiness, i'm using Windows XP Pro to connect to the Internet through another Windows XP Pro running Winroute Firewall.
The setting of Internet explorer connection were :
1. Connect through LAN
2. i checked the 'Using a proxy server for your LAN' checkbox, and enter the address and port number.

with these setting on all XP Pro PCs everything doing fine, but on Vista Bussiness i got message "NS error : couldn't find example).

I also had turned off all the firewall setting but still cannot connect to the Internet.

Do you have any connectivity from this machine to any other machine?

Does your Network Card need updated Vista Drivers?

Are there any clues in the Event Viewer?

After you configure Internet Connection Sharing in Windows Vista, the network connection stops working after one-to-two hours

Yes i have connectivity to another machine and it doing fine.
Now i had installed my Vista Pc with Winroute software and act as internet connection, so any pc from my network connected to the Internet through my Vista Pc.
Everything doing is fine if any of the machine wants browsing to Internet. But there is some problem if sometimes they're tried to upload or download using ftp, or enter to a secure website required password, i got disconected and i have to reconnect again.
Is it happened because of the new secure system of Vista to disconect if there's any unsecure incoming connection?

Are there any of these type of mentioned logs available to you?

Or your own Firewall log? What about the Event Viewer, there's always bad news to be found in there, unfortunately.

See if there are any clues from these type of articles too.

I'm using 2 network adapter, one to connect to domain and the other connect to internet.
I got this error on the 2nd adapter(to the internet):

The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter
with settings:

Adapter Name : {7E0A54C7-DD03-4D05-910F-F2B6A0B3BAE3}
Host Name : EDP
Primary Domain Suffix : wtcsu.pri
DNS server list :
192.168.0.1
Sent update to server : 192.168.0.1:53
IP Address(es) :
192.168.0.100

The reason the system could not register these RRs was because of a security related problem. The cause of this could be (a) your computer does not have permissions to register and update the specific DNS domain name set for this adapter, or (b) there might have been a problem negotiating valid credentials with the DNS server during the processing of the update request.

You can manually retry DNS registration of the network adapter and its settings by typing "ipconfig /registerdns" at the command prompt. If problems still persist, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator. For specific error code, see the record data displayed below.

probably this is cause the Internet become disconnected.
i've tried the command "ipconfig /registerdns" and got this message:
"the requested operation requires elevation"
I don't know what it means.
