I have one PC in my office that will not allow you to connect to any Exchange mailbox. I can setup the service in outlook for that user's name on any other PC in the network, but not his own. I figured it was the computer account on the server, but I have deleted it, and rejoined it to the domain several times, but no luck. Any ideas?

What OS is he running !

I have run into this issue before

You can rename this computer and add it the domain. This should work

Also you may want to try repairing MS outlook from the network or CD.

I have renamed the computer several times and rejoined it to the domain. Also, I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled office, but no luck.

Rename and change the SID using ghostwalk or a product of the like.
You may also try adding the ip of the xchange server to the lmhosts file.

Try This

First do you have DHCP Running.

If so take the machine of the network and remove it's IP Address Lease.

In computer managment, remove any traces of the computers MAC address.

rejoin the machine to the domain.

If this is a desktop machine. you can purchase a new NIC card with a diffrent MAC address and see if the domain still rejects the machine. if so there's always the Window ! LOL

can you set up the affected user on another pc and connect to his mailbox? If you can't, then it's a corrupted mailbox - log into it using owa (sometimes you can)to forward any accumulated messages, then through AD Users/comp. delete his mailbox, recreate his mailbox and you should be good to go.

The users mailbox is fine. He can connect flawlessly with his laptop.

I think that emiller might be on to something. I have downloaded NewSID, and will be trying this today. Also, if this doesn't work I am going to try a new NIC as matrix suggested.

I'll post my results the first of next week.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I have this problem from my NT 4 Boxes in my Toronto Office.

Edit the Hosts File and insert a Static Entry for the Exchange Server.
The Host file is located at
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC

Sample Entry -
X.X.X.X YourExchangeServerName

Hope it works...

I have seen this before. To resolve this uninstall and then reinstall TCP/IP on the users desktop.
