I recently had some issues with spyware/adware/maelware. I just got my laptop in running order after having to remove my touchpad mouse, antivirus and zone alarm then running a couple of spyware software removers(spybot and spy hunter). The problem I have now is that the system won't change video settings from 16bit 640X480.. That resolution on a laptop is difficult to deal with. I'd like to change to at least 800X600 or 1024X480, but when I select either of these settings, the system says it needs to reboot to make the change... when it comes back up, it is still at 640X480... Going into the advanced settings, the system is setup to apply new seetings without rebooting. Is there another way that I can modify the resolution settings??
thanks

Sounds like you corrupted or uninstalled your video card drivers.. Reinstall them and then see if you can change the settings..

reinstalled the neomagic magicmedia 256av drivers for my dell latitude, then rebooted. change video settings to 800x600, system says change will take place after a reboot... after reboot, no change in results.. still boots up 640x480..

tried reinstalling drivers a second time and all is well...
thanks
