Hi all - Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing because security is new to me, but>...

How do I change or set the admin password. I went under User and Group accounts and tried to change it, but it keeps on telling me that the old password is wrong. Please lead me in the right direction.

If there is an existing password, you will need to know it to change it. If it does NOT have an existing password, leave the old password line blank and just fill in the New and confirm lines.

If all this fails, you could try deleting and reinstalling Access. It will all depend on the extent of the security features of the application.
Good Luck.

Thanks that did work. Now when I left the access database and went back in, it did not ask me for a password.

I went into security and it did not allow me to do anything.

Any suggestions on what could have happened.

Please disregard the previous reply. I fully exited Access and when I went back in it did prompt me for a password.

One problem though: admin is not a member of the admins group. I am not able to give it the permissions.
