Cannot capture video from Digital 8 Handycam

Windows 2000 is my OS. I'm running Premiere 6.0. My Firewire card is VIA. I've tried different cables. I've tried different PCI ports. I've tried updating drivers. I've tried reinstalling Premiere. Windows does not see my camcorder, so neither does Premiere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try visiting the camera's manufacturer's website to see if they have drivers for the camera

I've tried that as well with no luck. For some reason Sony doesn't have them on their support site. Thanks though.
