Just upgraded to Outlook 2013. I have used a tapi program to dial for years. I have installed it. It works with dialer.exe. I did a workaround to make it active in Outlook instead of Lync.

However, I do not get a call option when in the People screen. The phone icon is grayed out. However, I can dial if I go to View Source: Outlook Contacts.

What do I need to do to get the call icon working?

Thanks.

Running into same problem. I notice that you must be within Business Card, Card, Phone, or List view to use the TAPI installed, otherwise Skype or Lync are used (unless you have removed Default IM option). The call option from context menu or Communicate ribbon group are completely missing in Outlook 2013.

It looks like it was removed as an option and creates another way to force office users to their own products.

Not a surprise. If you find something that works let us know.
