I've got a VoIP phone in IP Office 4.1(12) which works fine when someone outside of the office calls it, or the person calls out to some external number. Both can hear each other just fine.

However, when calling internal ext's or huntgroups, the person on the other end cannot hear the person talking. But the person on the phone in question, can hear the person saying "Hello? Hello?" :)

Anyway, I've checked the ext., the internal call route, etc. all seems OK there. Rebooted the switch and the server, too.

I'm not sure what to do next to fix this. Thought of replacing the phone or recreating the user's ext.

But I did capture this when it did not work. Not sure if this sheds some insight:

first off, its never i good idea to have spaces in a hunt group name.

second, more than likely its a routing problem. do you have the proper ip routes?

It sounds lik the routes from the IPO are fine because external calls are fine.

This sounds like direct media routing between IP Phones.

Check what gateway the phones are using (I always set this as the IPO) and check the routes on that piece of kit.

... And the gateway is... where? I have most server settings pointing back to the computer itself in IPO Manager.

I did remove the spaces from the names for the huntgroups and am resetting the phone switch again...

ok, lets start form the beginning.

Are you using IP phones at either or both sites???

If you have ds modules, were they upgraded properly with the 3.2.99 load before going to 4.2.12. The modules wont work correctly otherwise. Is this a ip500?

Uncheck the Allow Direct media path until you get the routing sorted...sounds like a classic case to me!

Yes, they are both VoIP phones on either side. And it continues to happen after removing the spaces from the huntgroups they are dialing.

And unchecking "Allow direct media path" ... where is that at?

this will be down to IP Routes. What you need to find out is what Default Gateway the IP Phones are programmed to use. then check the IP Routing on that device. I bet IP routea are fine on the system as call setup happens and then when the phones talk to each other directly you have 1 way IP traffic.

Make sure you've selected H450 support in for the VOIP extensions.
