All:

Can anyone give me some insight to the following:

Everytime I try to add my VCX file to VSS, I get the following error message:

Error #1 in createvcxcursor (887), the file does not exist

I know for a fact that this file exists in the proper location

Any answers to this questions are greatly appreciated.

What version and SP of VFP? What version of VSS? (6.0c?) Are you adding these files (.VCX & .VCT) through VFP or directly in VSS?

Rick

VFP 7.0 SP1, VSS 6.00C, adding through VFP project manager. Should I add them with VSS instead of within VFP?

Have not tried that since I have my VCX added to my project.

Thanks for the reply

Art,
It's not a case of right or wrong, it's just I've seen both setups used. There are advantages and disadvantages will both methods, but you definitely don't want to use both techniques at the same time. (You can confuse VFP's tracking of what's locked and checked out!)

Since I haven't run into this error, I'm stumpped. Have you checked the read-only and "rights" attributes on these files? Are you using the "standard" scctext.prg or the fixed one?

Rick

RGBean,

I have no idea what I have done, but I finally got the file into VSS.

What was happening was when I tried to add the files using VSS directly, I was getting a VSS error, files already open. WHich was strange.

So I did the following:

Create a dummy text file called lib.txt

1. Added this file to the project under the other tab (text Files)
2. Adding that file created my lib folder in VSS
3. Added the VCX, VCT files using VSS
4. Then went back to VFP to add the files to VSS, it asked to overwrite the local with the VSS file, I said yes and I was all set.

This was very strange, I know it sounds it, but I got it.

THanks for all your help.

Hey you would not know anything about VFP and SQL server? I just posted a questions that I need some advice on

Thanks again
