our file server is being backed up using the remote agent.

I have one folder in particular I cannot seem to add to the selection list.

when I browse the selection list I see the folder in question, yet when I click the checkbox and click "okay" it will not accept it and take me back to the home screen like the other folders.
I click "okay" and it just sits there, nothing happens.

I check the permissions and it seems to have the same permissions as the other folders that are backed up.

what else could it be?

Try to add it using the text view. Does it work like that?

if you mean going to include/exclude and inserting the path:
\\servername\userfolder
it does the same exact thing. there appear to be several folders with the same issue, I cannot add them.

but I cant find anything unique about these different folders. they seem to have the same sharing and security settings as folders that are getting backed up every night.

called symantec support and got the fix.

I had too many folder!

apparently with 11D you run into this issue if you are backing up more than 140 folders(give or take a few, cant recall exact number)using remote agent.

support had me create a registry file called MaxRpcDatablockSize and give it a value of 8 F's, (ffffffff)

that sets it to maximum number of selections.

after that I could select all the folders.

yay!

funny thing, while I was on hold their voicemail is asking you to use directassist, even though they are not accepting any new cases via directassist :)
